Catalpa is also committed to supporting local businesses and where appropriate, preference will be given to the use of local suppliers of goods and services.
Local vendors will be invited to register their interest as potential suppliers and tender opportunities will be communicated to local vendors. During construction the following supply contracts will be available:
- Earthworks Contractors -
- Primary contractor who is capable of performing the required bulk earthworks within the required timeframe; and
- Secondary contractor who may have a bobcat, mini excavator, backhoe and tip truck who can provide excavation and backfill services during installation of underground services and other minor earthworks during the project
- General (Sub-Contract) Tradesmen – including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, carpet/lino layers, painters for accommodation and office refurbishment
- Telecommunications installation
- Air-conditioning installation
- Transport - local freight companies who may be able to provide freight services from Perth to site
- Mechanical Services (including tyres) - to carry out servicing and minor type repairs to construction equipment like cranes, forklifts etc. (Construction vehicles would be serviced in a local mechanics workshop)
- Auto Electrician - as per mechanical services
- Retail Outlets - consider setting up accounts with local outlets
- Employees will need doctors, banks, personal shopping, fuel outlets and sporting facilities.
