Project Benefits
The development of Catalpa’s Edna May Gold Project will have significant flow-on social benefits for the community including:

  • greatly increased income to local government from royalties, letting of camp-land and offices, and annual social investment - providing the opportunity to expand services and improve community infrastructure
  • population growth and increased diversity in the local population
  • improved facilities and long-term jobs and careers, all of which will help encourage young people to stay
  • growth for existing local business and many new business opportunities
  • job opportunities during construction
  • 100 direct full-time jobs for the minimum life-of-mine of seven years
  • indirect jobs from the increased economic activity
  • year-round work, rather than seasonal, and offering a revenue source other than from the agricultural sector,  both of which will reinforce the region’s economic and social base.

Community Engagement Meetings

Catalpa is committed to utilizing local labour and services wherever possible, and to this end, will be hosting a series of community meetings to consult with potential employees, service providers and other interested and affected parties.
